Executive Board
Alexia Jackson
Co- President
Alexia Jackson is a senior at Duke University from Centennial, Colorado. Alexia is completing a BA in Public Policy and Political Science. She is currently serving as the Co-President of AFI. This past summer, Alexia interned at McKinsey & Co, focusing on public sector technology and innovation strategy. Alexia has served on multiple political campaigns. At Duke, she is the VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for DSP ( business society) and a University Scholar. In her free time, she takes care of her houseplants, explores new restaurants, and cheers on Duke Basketball.
Maya Arora
Co-President
Maya Arora is a senior at Duke University from Wilmington, NC. She is majoring in Public Policy, while also minoring in both philosophy and environmental science & policy. Maya is currently serving as AFI's Co-President and is excited to lead new client projects this year and research policy solutions. Outside of AFI, Maya is a team captain on Duke Mock Trial and is a research assistant with the Climate Migration Lab at Duke. In her free time, Maya loves to play tennis and go to the beach!
Anika Mandavilli
Director of Consulting
Anika Mandavilli is a junior at Duke University from Hockessin, Delaware. Anika is very interested in different aspects of healthcare, whether it’s related to policy, technology, or business. At Duke, she’s majoring in statistical science with a data science concentration and minoring in global health.
Sid Ravi
Director of Consulting
Sidharth “Sid” Ravi is a current junior at Duke from Cary, North Carolina. He is completing a BS in Economics with a minor African and African American Studies, and a certificate in Documentary Studies. Having been a Marketing Intern with InterPride this past summer, Sid loves the work done at the organization and is so lucky to continue researching for the organization through the American Future’s Institute. Outside of AFI, Sid is the Tournament Director of the Duke Mock Trial team and participates in research about diversity in the Economics department at Duke and a Bass Connection’s Project researching Trauma Informed Practices in North Carolina juvenile delinquency courts. In his free time, Sid loves talking about pop culture and going on walks around Durham.
Sarah Mir
Director of Research
Sarah Mir is a current sophomore at Duke from Los Angeles, California. She is pursuing a BA in Public Policy and Psychology, with interests in immigration policy and education. Outside of AFI, she is a fellow for the Duke Partnership for Service and interns with a nonprofit immigration attorney at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. Besides that, she has a passion for cooking and pottery, where she spends her free time experimenting with recipes and creating mugs.
Sophia Monaco
Director of Research
Sophia Monaco is a current sophomore at Duke University from New York City. She is pursuing a BA in Political Science with a minor in History and a certificate in Ethics and Society. Sophia is currently serving as Co-Vice President of Research for AFI and is excited to train the next cohort of analysts. Outside of AFI, Sophia is involved with research in the Political Science Department and loves playing tennis.
Tamsin Connerly
Secretary
Tamsin Connerly is a sophomore at Duke University from Hingham, Massachusetts. She is studying Public Policy with minors in Spanish and Statistics. At Duke, Tamsin conducts research on net wealth, adolescent mental health, and family well-being through Duke’s Sanford School of Public Policy, and she is on the executive team for Duke’s Club Tennis team. Additionally, Tamsin coaches debate for high schoolers. In her free time, Tamsin loves to watch TV and go on runs.
